What Non-climbers Think about Climbing
By Roger Dyke
Visiting one of the profs at Bangor Uni on business, it got round to 12.30, so we headed out to lunch. Not to a pub, but to the poshest of the Uni facilities - a large private dining room. As we left my host spotted someone he knew just arriving, and introduced us briefly.
We walked on, and I said "Very pleasant man".
David smiled: "Yes, thought you'd like to meet him - I expect you'll be seeing him again."
"Yes?"
"Yes, he's head of Orthopaedic Surgery at the hospital."
