PLUM'S 80th BIRTHDAY - Carrbridge Pat Holt

By Pat Holt

What a night! His Scottish friends had done him proud. After a rib bruising greeting he introduced me as the girl he met as the snows of 1947 melted camping on the top of Windgather - he was the first KMC member I met.

He and Nan danced with enthusiasm and finesse from 7:30 til midnight to a lively 3 man Orchestra with a short break for a splendid Buffet - a large birthday cake was piped in with style.

I enjoyed meeting olf friends including Alan Bell who organised a short sing along.

The MC for the evening was Clive Freshwater from the Inch Water Sports Centre (he taught my daughter Susie to sail 27 years ago).

I was amazed to see how very agile and light on his feet Plum still is when dancing - skilled too as he managed to avoid my toes which is quite a feat as I seem to be blessed with 2 left feet.

It certainly was an evening to remember - and now Look forward to his 90th.
