Christmas bash @ Ty Powdwr

I arrived late on Friday to find that team keen were winter climbing on Snowdons Trinity face, the weather could have been better but at least the precipitation was dry.

On Saturday the keen ones went to the pointy Cnicht and Tremadog offered a good helping of damp routes. I opted for the walk down to Llanberis and the shops. The nerves of being totally out of my comfort zone had me back at the hut early afternoon looking for sharpest knifes.

The main entertainment for those at the hut was getting the Xmas decorations up. The tree was hung/strung up in the middle of the kitchen in a rather unusual orientation. Later, as we didn't have any crackers, people were sent to the lounge to make paper hats out of whatever materials they could find there and I have to say there some pretty good efforts. The Xmas Bash is/are the people who attend and I thank everyone who attended for keeping this traditional meet alive. To cover costs of the meal a voluntary donation was requested and hopefully those who brought some goodies took out their expenses – however there was a surplus which I've rounded up to £20 and put it into the club's new slate quarries bolt fund.

On Sunday I did a short walk with Trish to Nant Peris via the Slate Quarries and some very waterlogged fields. I apologise for not keeping tabs on what was done this day but there was enough food left over for another meal and I do believe some was taken home too.
