Returning for it’s 12th year, the KMC Burns night meet was another success with surprisingly good weather on the Saturday seeing a number of teams up in the mountains to work up an appetite for the supper to come.

When the evening came and the haggis supper had been eaten (arriving well on time thanks to some early peeling efforts led by John!) the group assembled in the lounge for the traditional whisky tasting.

7 “whiskies” were served though Dan had some tricks up his sleeve as usual, serving some artificially aged spirit alongside some artificial coloured new make as an experiment.  We also discovered who amongst the group were “super tasters” which sounds heroic but basically means when Dan handed them an innocuous looking tab of white paper it tasted horrible to them (rather than plain to the others).

Dram of the night went to the Glenglassaugh 12 which was polished off pretty quickly after the tasting ended with the Cu Bocan a close second.

Sunday saw slightly worse weather and significantly worse heads.  Looking forwards to next year already!
