Meet Promo:
Yuletide fun, frolick & festive fayre for all KMCers - the old, the infirm and the other two
SATURDAY 14th December - Ty Powder
This is another of those important KMC events where the club can come together to share stories, reacquaint with old friends, reminisce about climbing epics of yore and enjoy festive fayre prepared, this year, by a duo of Michelin stars – Alice & Philippa – with their trusty sous chefs Jim and Kevin. And for those with a hankering for the old days before the onset of arthritic joints and sensible haircuts (or no hair) – the old KMC Christmas disco will be reinstated; with dancing (including Jim’s body jerks & invisible door trick) in the lounge with all night banter & whiskey tasting in the kitchen.
So they’ll be something for everyone
- the very old (Ken, Bridget, Craig, Midge, Colin, Lorna, Rogers 1&2, Duncan, Andy S, …),
- the old, (Daves 1-9, Mary, Al, Lester, Vicky, John, Robs 1&2, Mark ….),
- the ever-young (Michelle, Trish, Mr Gregson, Alice, Jim, Christine, Jo S., …)
and the:
- really young (Emily, Gareth, James, Steve, Emma, Sue, & Kevin).
Disclaimer – all folk absent from above are for reasons of sub judice but are nevertheless enthusiastically encourage to attend – bail conditions permitting.
Please support this event – the club thrives on it’s collective membership and not the daring dos of individuals, - so ask not what the KMC can do for you, but what you can do for the KMC. On this occasion that means throw away your inhibitions, put on your dancing clothes, rehearse an old climbing yarn and prepare your taste buds for an out of this world experience! … and if that doesn't entice you to head West – remember we know where you live !!!!
As for the delights that will be teasing your taste buds, this year there will be a free-range turkey (with all the trimmings) as well as full-on vegetarian alternative. They’ll also be mulled wine, starters, puddings, cheese & biscuits, mince pies, chocolates and a glass of port.
In addition to music and dancing they’ll be a raffle and other fun and games
As for cost, we’ll aim for around £8.00 – but it may vary depending on numbers etc.
We’ll be imbibing mulled wine at 6.30 p.m. ready for sitting down promptly at 7.00pm.
What we need to know are the numbers of folk attending and whether you want to opt for turkey or veggie; so please RSVP to philippa.maye@hotmail.co.uk asap.
See you all then
Alice, Jim, Philippa and Kevin
