Kinder Northern Edges Climbing
A day out on Kinder Northern Edge
From Birchen Clough Bridge, a gentle stroll down though trees to Lady Clough crossing onto the forest track leading round towards the Snake Path. Waited a few moments at the forest edge as a greying squall of rain swiftly scraped down Ashop Clough. Following a Land Rover track under blue sky along and down to the Snake Path. Eventually fording towards Upper Red Brook. Toiling ascent amongst mice and hunting birds, caressed by airborn water. On the northern edge of Kinder long views across to Bleaklow under more blue skies. A visit west to the plateau end, lying on an inclined rock slab with head peering into the draft, gazing at Mill Hill. Back east to the boxing gloves, the lee providing a social gathering shelter while vertical bands pass smartly sandwiched in sunshine. A clap of thunder then over to Fairbrook Naze. An escape from blue skies and hair whipping air back down to the Ashop River, crossing to the Snake Path with relative calm. Back at the car the circle complete.

Meet Promo:
I plan to be on the north facing Ashop Edge side of the Kinder plateau.
There are many possible approaches, such as from the Snake road, or from Hayfield.
Note: I've changed my start point to the car park at Birchen Clough Bridge SK109914, on the Snake Pass A57.
ETA 10.30 am at the western end of Ashop Edge (approx SK077898) with a traverse in mind.
Contact me if you've space in any transport or think you'd like a lift.
Cheers Dave.
P.S. Any late info will be on Scribble.
