Baslow to Hathersage Walk
Baslow - Hathersage linear walk.
Please note this walk is on a SATURDAY.
Meet at 09:30 at the busstop opposite the Little John pub in Hathersage, in time to get the 276 09:32 to Baslow (£3.20, CASH ONLY).
The walk will start from Baslow at 10:15, meet at the busstop opposite the church (SK 272724). This is the first busstop as you arrive in Baslow from Hathersage (bus arrives at 10:07)
We will then walk back to Hathersage via White Edge, the Fox Inn and Burbage Edge. About 10 miles in total, but there are options to shorten the walk if needed, or even avoid it completely if you want to by taking the Derwent Valley Heritage way. It's a nice high moorland walk with some good views particularly up towards Burbage bridge.
There are various ways you could get to and from the meet, but I'll be getting the train to Hathersage: the 07:45 from Manchester Piccadilly/08:07 from Romiley/(other stops possible). This gets in at Hathersage at 08:46 - a bit early, but the Pool Cafe is open from 8, so I'd recommend a pleasant wait there with a coffee and bacon butty.
There are trains back to Manchester from Hathersage at about half past the hour, and of course lots of places to distract yourself while you wait for the train.
I hope to see you there! Let me know if you're coming and want to share transport.
