Start: National Park Car Park, Grassington (cost: Ca £4.50 all day)

Time: 09.45

Route:  Leave north end of village by the Dales Way then PROW at SE0024 6463 to Bare House at SE0049 6692. North-west back to the Dales Way following this to Scot Gate Lane. Descend to Conistone village, crossing the fields west of the river to Kilnsey for lunch stop. There’s the Tennent’s Arms or a café at the fishery next door for those who want these. Alternatively, find a suitable spot immediately above the village at the start of Mastiles Lane.

Continue up the green lane to the fork at SD9644 6701taking the left hand branch, over Malham Moor to cross the minor road at SD9598 6503. From there follow the bridle track past Higher Height Holes over the moor to SD9582 6302. Descend to Moor Lane, cross the B6265 and proceed to Linton. Take minor lanes to Linton Falls and climb Sedber Lane back to the car park.

Distance  Approx. 12 miles/5 – 6 hours though plenty of scope for modification.
