The Annual KMC Fell Race
Please contact the meet leader or the club.
This year’s annual fell race will be held in the Kinder area, and it will be the Sunday only.
We will be following the usual format for the race, with walkers setting off at 10.30am and the runners at 11am. All runners / walkers will be given a map of the area and we will give you the grid reference for each checkpoint for you to mark them on you map.
The route starts and finishes from Bowden Bridge Car Park (Kinder Rd, High Peak SK22 2LH). The route will be approximately 12 miles; those daring to take a more direct route could shorten it, and those who get lost could lengthen it. You will require the ability to navigate, or to at least follow someone who can. There will be a little less elevation than previous years but we promise the route we’ve chosen is fantastic and it’ll have you exploring the beautiful hills in our backyard.
As always trophies are awarded for 4 categories - the fastest person, the fastest lady, the lottery that is the handicap and best first time effort by a club member.
We will provide refreshments after the race (soup, cake and drinks) but feel free to bring your own picnic. Please bring your own bowl, mug and utensils.
We are looking for volunteers for checkpoint marshals, please get in touch if you’re interested.
Different meets require varying levels of experience and fitness. Please speak to the meet organiser before the meet if you are concerned about any issues with regard to the meet or your ability to participate in the activities proposed. Contact details can be found on the Contact Us page.
If you are considering coming along to a club meet, please read the following:
