Ty Powdwr - Spring Working Meet

Andy S

An excellent turnout!

Members: Ian Crook, Greg Nunn, Izy Somers-Smith, Tim Howarth, Laura Bond, Andy Stratford, Dave Wylie, Michelle Harrison, Mark Garrod, Michelle Harvie, Andy Pierce, Jackie Pierce, Joe Dugdale, Rory Marsden. Jared Kitchen, Emily Pitts

All the dorms had a complete deep clean, lights replaced in the lounge, storage arranged for the new strimmer and a few other minor repairs inside. Jake the new HVAC engineer came to ponder the mysteries of the system and gave it a full service and ordered the broken parts required.

Outside a big team tackled the short stub wall, taking it down to the ground and moving the several ton of slate and rubble to a neat stack in the paddock. The lintel was also taken off and the wall corner rebuilt and redressed. An amazing days work led by Ian Crook and well supported by Tim, Greg, Andy P and others.

The strimming team were led by Rory, Jared and Andy with loads of areas of brush and dead bracken cleared and piled up in preparation for being able to mow more of the paddock. Jared tackled the run-in to Ty Detonator which is a possible location for a future passing place. Joe cleaned up and painted the render on the gas store to stop further degradation.

We managed to get out climbing on Friday evening in the quarries for a few routes around Seamstress and Never Never Land, and again on Sunday with a team comprising Rory, Jared, Andy S and Mich attempting the tough link up of ''A Grand Day Out'' - well deserving of the 6b+ grade  - very satisfying!

Thanks to all who came and grafted and thanks to Mark and Michelle for organising the catering.
