Moors Walk
Meet at:-
Rivington Country Park, Visitor Centre Car Park.

Time 9-15am for 9-30am start.
Meet at the Great Barn, & Visitor Centre, Carpark, then Following paths & trails through the woods we can walk north along Rivington Lower Reservoir to Rivington, & Upper Rivington Reservoir, then on by Yarrow Reservoir, & Alance Bridge, on to Yarrow Valley Trail, River Yarrow, Higher Hempshaw's, Hordern Stoops, to Rivington Road, then a steep path up on to Winter Hill & south & east to the Television Mast, then descending over Rivington Moor, & over Rivington Pike, Rivington Tower, & down to the Dove Cote possible Cafe stop, & descending through the Japanese Gardens, to the Memorial Pinetum, where the first planting began, in 1992 with 30 Giant Redwood Trees, (Sequoiadendrum Giganteum) Wellingtonia, in memory of former KMC member, Alan Payne, whose Environmental, Planning, & Design skills, created the many excellent Outdoor Recreational opportunities, possible here, & & on all North West Water/ United Utilities, Lands & Reservoirs, & who, also designed created & built the present shelter belt plantations, & the excellent comfortable Lounge, we all enjoy & use at our KMC, Hut, Ty Powdwr.
Then returning to the Great Barn, & Visitor Centre Cafe for post walk refreshments, Tea/Coffee/Soup, & an excellent selection of Cakes etc.
