Saturday dawned, TP looking lovely with drifts of daffodils nodding in the breeze, sun blazing – what a gorgeous day for a meet! The main group headed down the track with Caro, with Ian Crook leading the work and John Castick in support to dispense sage advice about shovelling. Fabien and Iona danced the track flat, everyone else hi-ho-ed their way up and down the track with barrows of gravel, managing to get through two massive bags - it was a much smoother drive home on the Sunday. Mark Garrod led on his carpark drainage project.
Inside the hut, soup bubbled, and various clangs and grunts floated through the open windows, I think this was Dave Wylie in the gutters. At one point, Dave Dillon inserted himself under the kitchen sinks to investigate a leak, and reappeared sometime later from the hall. Is this possible? Perhaps I wasn’t concentrating. Steve Lopacki enjoyed himself in the paddock with a saw, and later put up a nice new shelf over the work surfaces with the help of Fabian. In the afternoon, Catherine M donned gloves and set off on an extreme dorm cleaning mission, while Michelle and Bridget indulged in some mattress wrestling (aided by mattress changing guru Catherine and her System), and Roger deep cleaned the microwaves. Various other cleaning tasks got done too.
The labour was punctuated by lots of tea, coffee and biscuits in the sun around the picnic table, and a sociable lunch.
After work, Caro and Steve and a few others snuck in a few routes at Bus Stop, while Michelle and Tom (and very briefly Christine) went for a freezing swim in the Padarn.
Sunday was drizzly, which was a shame, but we managed a chatty walk and lunch before heading home. A very successful working party, thanks to our new hut manager Caro and the team!

Meet Promo:
Hi folks,
Introducing your new club hut managers: Caro C and Assistant hut manager Nat Lacroix.
Our first working meet is 22-23 March, so come and give your hut some TLC.
Working meets are also a chance to get to know other members as we work on the Saturday, eat well and have a day out on Sunday.
You stay at the hut for free, lunch and morning and afternoon tea and biscuits are provided too.
Repairing the track is a priority this time after recent heavy rain - the kind of job where many hands & legs make less back breaking work :) The more of us there are, the more chance you have of standing around and just looking busy or telling people how they shouldn't be doing things. Don't worry, there are other jobs if this kind of work is not for you.
It will be the Spring Equinox so we could have a fire or games night on Saturday evening, depending on the weather and popular demand.
Please do the add me thing on the KMC website or email Caro or Christine Beeston (meet leader and head chef). We need to know numbers for feeding you.
Do let us know of any dietary requirements for food on the Saturday.
Hope to see many of you there,
Caro
Christine
