The Xmas Bash 2025 meet started off with a sprinkling of people arriving on Friday night, and some early food and drink was consumed whilst putting up the Xmas tree in the kitchen, led by our annual decorations manager, Dave Wylie. Saturday brought wind and gales and a few braved the mountains:  Cathy, Christine and Neil managed to summit Elidir Fach without wind blown injuries, whilst Jim summited Elidir Fawr after almost crawling to the final summit. Andy, Mich, Gareth, Jess Bailey and Jess Pealing climbed a couple of routes on Tryfan and managed to top out in high winds.

Meanwhile preparations were continuing at the hut with Philippa and Cathy preparing the food whilst Jo S made the mulled wine. Other food contributions included two cottage pies by Colin, which were demolished almost immediately, Michelle provided some salads (both Michelle and Colin were unable to come), and some delicious puddings were provided by Trish, Christine, Bridget, Philippa and Cathy.

In the lounge, Jim and Skipper Dave provided hilarious entertainment of blindfolded harness and rope games and rock climbing charades. After the meal, Kasia and Mirek shared their liqueurs and the evening continued long after the meal had finished. Thank you to those who helped with the food, cooking, washing up and clearing away.

On Sunday, Gareth, Nat and Kasia scrambled up Gryn Las Ridge topping out at Pete’s Eats, whilst Harry and Becca climbed Moel Siabod in wild conditions. Thank you to all those who came. It was a really great weekend.

The Festive Season is almost upon us and so is our club Christmas Bash - Saturday 13^th December.

We will be serving Cosy Christmas Comfort this year, that is, food appropriate to dark and wintery evenings which will rekindle warmth for those who've been wandering out in the hills, scaling crags or dipping in cold waters. 

There will be:

Mulled wine and Nibbles

Starters: A choice of soups with rolls.

Mains: Cottage pies, Winter Stews both will have meat and veggie options, plus side dishes and vegetables.

Deserts: Old fashioned puddings and custard.

We will ensure that all dietary requirements are catered for once we have been notified of them.  Please bring your own alcohol and drinks.

The cost will be £15 per person, so please contact Cathy Gordon for payment details plus your dietary needs by email: cathygordon101@gmail.com  To confirm your place, please could you make payment by Monday 1st December. This is to ensure we have time to shop before the bash weekend. Any money left over will be donated to the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team.

Come and join us for the weekend and meet up with friends new and old and kick off the Festive Season. We hope to have a quiz in the evening.

We aim to do some room decoration and food prep on the Friday evening and during the day on Saturday so volunteers to lend a hand would be much appreciated - please make yourselves known to Cathy and Philippa. If you fancy supplementing mains by bringing cakes or mince pies , please feel free.

Due to bed numbers and the size of the kitchen dining area we have to restrict numbers to 38, and as a result we will give priority to full and associate members. And please remember parking is limited so where possible car share.

Just be aware that Some folk have already signed up via 'add-me' on the website but others have contacted us directly which means places are filling up, so don't leave it too late. Please remember that payment needs to be made to secure your place.
