Aosta/Cogne Ice/Ski/Alpine Trip
UPDATE 06/09/25
Have now also booked two self catering apartments in st Nicholas (10 mins up hill from aosta/ & the hotel) for weds to weds, matching the cheap flights.
This will accomodate 11 people (provided two couples use the a double beds). Leaving hotel also booked for now, both are free cancellation and booking dates can be tweaked to suit. Will look to consolidate once people firm up their plans and ultimately book flights.

Full and Associate members only may participate in this trip.
12 spaces across 4 rooms booked at Hotel Residence Chateau, Via Libertà 10, 11010 Saint-Pierre, Italy for weds to sun, (close to Aosta, where the five ice climbing valleys meet, 30mins from most of the ice climbs and the valserverice ice park). Also about 30 mins from the medium size french/italian ski area san bernando/la thule/la roserie, 140km of runs with 70km reds, 60km blue, 17km black, and 30mins from courmayeur lift up to the valley blanche and the mont blanc alpinisim/ski tour mountaineering area and 30mins from grand Paradiso ski tour mountaineering. Plenty of cross country ski runs in cogne.
The idea for the dates is that people can pick and choose flights/dates (normally to milan) as needed that suit their annual leave and ££ commitments. Car hire is very cheap in italy with many off airport hire companies hiring for £60 a week. But it is also feasible to drive to Aosta via the mont blanc tunnel if wished (14hrs), which may be cheaper for a group in a car and gives flexibility on timings (and isn't actually that much longer than flying and hiring when you include all the time spent in the airports (7hrs)).
Accommodation cost will be spilt equally across attendees with individual rooms cancelled before 5th Feb if not needed. The accommodation is expected to be approx. £320 each, to be finalised when any empty rooms are cancelled and with the exchange rate at the time of booking payment. 3x rooms come with breakfast, one has a kitchenette instead.
