Colombia

These photographs are from two KMC members who are currently working in South America. They are of a walk done from the village of Mongui (at around 2,800 metres) to a mountain that was about 3,900 metres high, in the department of Boyaca in Colombia.
Colombia - January 2009
Some more photographs from our two intrepid members in South America. These are taken from a trek in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta near the Colombian Caribbean coast. It is a 6 day trek (3 there and 3 back) to a "lost" city in the middle of the rain forest. The city was abandoned during the Spanish conquests, however the Kogi people still live in the area whose ancestors originally inhabited the city.
Colombia - March 2009
Pictures from another trip in South America by James and Anja. These are from the Cocuy National Park in the Colombian Andes. They did a five day trek, which included the summit of Concavo at 5150 metres above sea level.
