Peaks Walk

Derek Seddon

HAYFIELD - SNAKE INN - RETURN. About 13 miles

This is what used to be called A GRAND MOORLAND TRAMP. It marks one of the original contested Peak District paths which was finally secured as a public Right of Way in 1897. You'll see why it was worth fighting for.

From New Mills: take the A6015. Turn right onto the dual carriageway at Hayfield, then immediately left. Bear left and then right on to Church Road. Take the next left fork and follow it into the cul-de-sac by the River Sett to park (free) at Grid Ref 041 867. Meet at 9.30am for 9.45 start.

Route: White Brow, William Clough to Ashop Clough to Snake Inn. Probably busy on Sunday, so a packed lunch is advisable. Return via Fair Brook, Kinder Downfall, down Pennine Way to Kinder Low End, Tunstead and back to Hayfield.

ALL WELCOME - DO COME - RING ME IF YOU NEED A LIFT
