Kendal Mountain Festival - Lakes Weekend
Fri 17th Nov - Sun 19th Nov, 2017
What they say about it:
Kendal Mountain Festival is the UK's premier mountain film festival. It is an award-winning and the most diverse event of its type in the world. Our vision is to inspire more people to explore, enjoy and represent mountains, wilderness and their cultures.
We host a highly respected international film competition, a packed lecture programme of guest speakers, filmmakers and athletes and crucially it’s the main social gathering for outdoor enthusiasts. We have thousands of visitors from home and overseas, hundreds of film screenings including high-profile premières plus plenty of special guests making this a must-do long weekend in The Lake District.
The idea is to head up on Friday morning for a walk or after work in the afternoon and catch a film or talk on Friday evening, before driving on to Rawhead Barn, Great Langdale (35-40 mins). On one of the weekend days we would back to Kendal for an all day session of films, talks, mingling, gear gawping, and socialising. The cost of film screenings/ entry to talks / etc ranges from about £10 to £50 depending on how many you sign up for. An all day film pass which gets you into most films (but not all the talks) is about £35. The other day would be a big day out on the hills.
I’ve only booked 4 spaces (£9 pp pn) at Rawhead for now, until I have gauged what interest there might be, so drop me an email if you would like to come – I can get more spaces. Don't hold back as there were quite a few folk staying there last year who were commuting to the festival, so i'll need to secure spaces before the summer if there are lots of us.
Bookings for members and associate members only.
