Newcomers Climbing Meet - Burbage North
The KMC newcomer meets are a great way to meet with the club and get involved. This year the club have split the newcomer meets over two days and two crags to be sure everyone can come along to meet us (and hedge our bets with the British weather!!) Today we are going to Burbage North.
Burbage North is a natural gritstone crag in the Eastern Peak District. It has several buttresses and is it is blessed with a large selection of good quality routes, and some very good bouldering, all along its length. There is a large quantity of good route at amenable grades with a few good toughies for those inclined. The crag faces south west and is often warm with a cool breeze in the summer. It’s a nice and friendly place to climb and hang out. Details can be found here:

The normal approach is from parking at Burbage bridge (details in the link above). We will aim to meet at the carpark at 9.30 and walk in about 10am. The buttresses at Burbage North are spread out, so please keep an eye on scribble for updates on location if you are later. Please note that the parking at Burbage bridge is very popular during weekends.
If you are a newcomer and would to join us, please get in touch: meets@karabiner.org. See you all there!
