Having never been to Brimham I thought it was high time for a visit. 

To help ensure we comply with government regs will meet at the car park at 10.30 (weather permitting). It’s a 1.5 hour drive from Manchester, so 10.30 seems like a realistic meeting time. Please check scribble and a decision will be made by 7.30am if the weather looks inclement. 

We will meet at the car Park, and if necessary split into bubbles of six people, going to different areas as desired. Meeting at the car park ensures that those attending can get into a bubble with people who have similar goals for their climbing day, whether that be smashing it up as many VDiffs as possible or taking it easy with some f6a bouldering! 

Parking 

There is a NT car park, which is £9 per day or Free for NT members. I will position myself somewhere visible near to the first car park entrance. It may be that the parking is busy and we have to park elsewhere and walk to the car park to meet. 

Climbing 

My thinking is to start at the Cubic Block area where there appear to be a sprinkling of routes across the lower grades with plenty of stars sprinkled too. We may change plans if it’s busy or if bubbles want to do other fun stuff elsewhere. 

I am happy to set up a top rope if anyone fancies some higher grade climbing with lower risk. 

What to bring:

Please ensure you bring sanitizer and a face covering and follow all the guidelines outlined in Paul’s previous email about COVID safety. 

I will bring a bouldering mat. Remember to bring midge spray to ward off the last of those midgies, and suncream if it’s sunny (wishful thinking?).

Tell me the names of who is coming, what you’re most interested in getting out of the day and if you have any requests. This will help me to organise things safely, so we can all have a lovely day of climbing.
