Evening meet: Cadshaw Castle Rock

Cadshaw Castle Rock

Cadshaw Castle rock is a secret crag. Tucked away in the woodlands at the head of the Turton and Entwistle reservoir near Bolton, the crag sits in its own little glade of fresh air, only coming into view during the final few hundred metres of approach. The crag is natural gritstone, and is home to a small selection of good climbs up to HS, and one or two at harder grades. It is generally well protected, a little polished, and the belays are often staked. It is a calm and relaxing place to spend an evening. Details can be found here:

Meets generally begin around 6pm but it is common for many to arrive early. At this time of year remeber to bring some midge cream/net, a warm layer and a head torch. I hope to see you all there.
