Peaks Autumn Outing
Autumnal White Peak Dales Walk Sunday October 23rd
Mark Garrod
A circa 10-mile walk taking in a number of the limestone dales east / south-east of Buxton, with a surprisingly good viewpoint near the end.
Start point is on the road at the south end of Chelmorton village (grid ref 111696), where roadside parking is available. Please share cars wherever possible. Meet 9.45am for a 10am prompt start.
Plan is to head west to the top end of Horseshoe Dale (sorry – a bit of roadside walking here), then drop down that and Deep Dale to arrive in Wye Dale. Heading back east into Chee Dale, we finally emerge into the sunlight near the Chee Dale nature reserve, and head south through Blackwell and over the ridge of Chelmorton Low and Sough Top. A gentle descent sees us back into Chelmorton (passing the pub if anyone is thirsty).
Hope to see you then – let me know if anyone needs a lift.
