Swanage Sea Cliff Climb, Swim, Jump & Boulder

Stuart H

Note, meet will take place on the last weekend of July 28-30th although you can visit for as long as you like!

Swanage is a great venue for outdoor fun, there's plenty of climbing of every type - from brilliant sea cliff trad adventures to numerous sport quarries, deep water soloing with a customary swim and cliff dive, plenty of bouldering and even aid climbs along cave roofs! There are a good spread of grades with quite a few easier trad venues on the sea cliffs, plenty of mid grade sport climbs and then a lot of harder trad too if you like to put a lot of effort in to your climbing!

My favourite adventures so far have been biviing in the clifftop quarries and then climbing into a sea cave and out through the blowhole to emerge at the top of the cliff, fantastic climbing in a limestone amplitheatre above the crashing waves and jumping in, swimming to and then climbing out!

Exploring the coastline via coasteering is also rewarding as is full of caves, quarries, nooks and crannies at every level, not to mention the fantastic fossils that are literally everywhere.

On dancing ledge there is a convenient sun warmed swimming pool cut by the local victorian school which is a good evening dip.

We will be camping at Putlake Adventure Farm in Langton Matravers. There's a massive field with a pub and a cafe for cooked breakfasts and post climb beer! You can also visit the llamas if you wish 😂.
