Troy Quarry *CANCELLED

Rory

CANCELLED DUE TO WET WEATHER

Troy Quarry is a long time KMC favourite with friendly climbing in a scenic location making it a great venue for the first midweek meet of the year. There are good routes across the grades with plenty that are well protected. Schools are on holiday so traffic should be better than usual and with light until after 8pm we hope to get a few good midweek routes in. Bring your headtorch as we will climb until sunset and even still have time for a cheeky pint on the way home!

Guidebooks, Northern Rock (2022) or Lancashire Rock (2016).

Troy Quarry is off the B6232 Grain Road just outside Haslingden traveling towards Blackburn, postcode BB4 4AU. Parking is in the lane from where the quarry is a 5-10 minute walk.

Parking and Approach from BMC RAD

“Parking in the lane leading to Troy - Currently (March 2021) a chain is being placed across the car park some time after about 3.30 pm. The farmer who does this has been leaving the chain loose if there are cars still parked, but do not rely on this. If you are going to leave before 3pm, use the car park. But if you may be there later, the best thing to do is to park in the lane, but DO NOT park in front of people's house or blocking entrance to parking etc. The folk in the lane are very positive about climbers so please please park sensibly.”
