Tom, and Phil went to race skimo with non members Joe and Helen.  there was not enough snow to race but we went to the beach and it was wild.

I'm heading to the skimo race on 30 December at the Lecht but going for a few extra days to make a meet of it.

Travel up by car on 28 December and back 1 January.  I have booked a room in the Premiere inn in Inverness, theres plenty of space and its cheaper than the hostel in Aviemore.  It would be good to have some company. 

The plan is obviously weather dependent, but to try to was to hike / ski / climb on 29th wherever conditions are best.  30 December at the Lecht and 31 December to hike / ski / climb wherever is good. 

Ski touring kit is easy enough to hire, £35 / day, I can teach going up hill, its really not hard but you need to be able to ski down.   If possible we'll look to go on tour on one day, maybe up Ben Macdui, but will be the easiest intro route possible (Helen hasn't toured before), nothing steep and the easiest way down, think a winter hike on skis.
