***************Hotpot Cancelled********************

*** Hotpot/photocomp news - the Navigation have ceased trading for the moment and can't host our hotpot.  Unfortunately due to Mother's Day, pubs are all very busy and I have been unable to find a suitable alternative venue.  At this stage I think the best thing is to cancel and let you all know if an alternative event is organised on a later date.

If you've already paid and we can't find an alternative, we will of course refund you.

Really sorry - but don't forget Chris K's Windgather meet is still going ahead!

The Hotpot is at the Navigation Inn at Buxworth again - not far off the A6 so ideally sited to drop in on the way back to Manchester from Windgather.  Food will be served at about 6.30pm, but we are welcome to turn up earlier (from 5pm) and have a drink and a chat in their function room.  Please note it won't be possible to order different food.  The hotpot last year was very tasty so please come along!

Please note the function room is used for their carvery on Sundays - they will be finishing this and then setting up for us, but we are welcome to chat in a quiet area of the function room.  

The menu is a vegan hotpot with bread, then vegan mixed fruit crumble and custard for a very reasonable £13.50.

Photographic Competition

Last year we had a couple of new fantastic photographers which made for a great slideshow and competition - please pick out your best photos since the last hotpot at the end of March 2024, so we can enjoy a great recap of the last year.

The competition will be for photographs in digital format in the following categories:
Mountain Action
Mountain Landscape
Rock Action
Human Interest/Digital Fun

Up to three entries per person per category will be accepted.

Please:
Send your entries to photocomp@karabiner.org (or send a link to your dropbox etc)
Give details of the category into which you are entering each photo
Name your files as follows: CATEGORY – YOUR NAME – PHOTO TITLE
 

There is NO RESTRICTION on file size for photographs!! Please do not worry about reducing the photo sizes.

Video Competition
We had some entertaining videos of a well known member grunting and thrashing his way up a snow slope last year - more entries would be very welcome!

Entries can be 15 seconds to 5 minutes in length. Upload your entry to either:

Your own Google Drive
Your Youtube Channel
Then send the link to photocomp@karabiner.org
