Evening Garden Party

Mark Garrod

Michelle Harvie

Lots of people attended – well 36 by our reckoning.

Many thanks to everyone who came along and made our attempt at a summer garden party a success, and for bringing enough food along to feed twice the number we had (or so it seemed). Hopefully everyone took the opportunity to have a good catch-up with people they haven’t seen for a while, and in that respect, it was good to see Alan Barber and Kate Sparks amongst others.

Can we also thank everyone for their donations to St Ann’s Hospice in memory of Roy and Ivy – we raised £137, which has now been sent to the charity.

We may even think about a repeat next year.

Meet Promo:

This is by no means the exact same format as Roy and Ivy Lee’s fantastic annual events held until recently, but we do hope it goes part way to filling a small gap in the social calendar during the summer.

Firstly, our garden is an awful lot smaller than Roy and Ivy’s, but if you wish, you could spend 20 seconds or so walking round it and telling us where we are going wrong. There won’t be plants for sale, but we will still take donations for St Ann’s Hospice, in their memory.

Please do bring some savoury, salad or sweet table contributions, plus something to add to the drinks table, and most importantly of all, just have a jolly good catch-up with everyone else.

The address is in the handbook or on the membership section if you are logged into the website.  Parking on the road is not too bad if done carefully – there is more parking toward the Didsbury end of the road (near the river) if need be.

Timing is 7pm onwards – just walk straight into the garden down the side of the house.

Hope to see you there. Michelle & Mark
