Foundation meet: Edale Walk and Nags Head

Margaret Baldock

A walk of about 10 miles along classic routes to mark the founding of the club 75 years ago today.  I have ordered lots of sunshine and a touch of rain/wind to ensure we don’t overheat.

For those able to come by train there should be one leaving Piccadilly around 8:30 arriving Edale about 9:15 but check times as November not published yet.

Meet outside the Penny Pot cafe in Edale near train station at 9:30 for 9:45 start.  Route:  Walk south via Harden Clough - ascend to Rushup Edge - continue north west via Brown Knoll to Kinder Low  then Kinder Downfall - cross Kinder heading south east to descend via Crowden Clough to Barber Booth - return to Edale along Pennine Way.

We will finish at the Nag’s Head where the KMC was conceived, for celebratory drinks etc, reminiscences and some drying out perhaps.

Any queries or running late please contact Maggie 07870 111331
