75th Trail Challenge - Trail 4

Trail 4: Curbar and Froggatt (10km)

The 75th Trail Challenge is a year-long race in The Peak District. The challenge is open to everyone and there are lots of prizes to be won! The trails vary in length between 5km and 10km. Competitors can run or walk the trails because anyone can win, but you must have fun; enjoy each journey and the places that you visit along the way.

For each race a trail map will be published. On the map are a series of check points that must be visited to complete the trail. At each check point will be a hidden question on the KMC’s history. Finding and answering the questions in the fastest time is the way to win the race! Points will be awarded for completing each trail, how quickly you complete each trail, and for answering the questions correctly. Each trail will only be open for a limited time so being fast is the name of the game…

The 4th trail of the year is a brilliant 10km circular around the edges of Curbar and Froggat. There are 4 check points on route. The navigation is easy and there is not much height gain, but the ground is varied and sometimes a bit technical too. The views are also brilliant and there are some very nice cake shops nearby too.

I will be waiting at the Curbar Gap car park at between 10am and 12pm on Sunday 4th August to hand out maps to all the racers. Please come prepared for the prevailing conditions, and please bring your own compasses and a pen! I look forward to seeing you all on the 4th for a morning of adventure...

PPS: It is also Emily T's birthday weekend so there’ll be plenty of cake kicking around!!
