Evening meet: Alderman Rocks
Alderman Rocks
Alderman Rocks is an atmospheric crag perched on top of Aldermans hill in the Chew valley. The hill is a promoritiory of the Saddleworth Moor and it encloses the Chew Valley on its northern side. The rocks overlook the valley like an ancient castle guard and it feels wild and exposed to climb there; the views are epic. The crag is home to small number of easier routes and unusually for Gritstone, many are two pitches long, This makes it an ideal introduction to multipitch climbing. It is very close to the parking, and is great for evening out. Details can be found here:

The usual parking for Alderman is Bin Green where a short stiff jaunt up hill gets you to the crag in 15 mins. The meet will begin at 6pm but its normal for many to arrive earlier. Keep an eye on scribble for updates. Please bring a warm layer, bug spray and a headtorch just in case, Some money for a pint afterwards is a good idea too. Thanks guys. See you all at the crag.
