Walk & Wild Swim
Meet in the car park (either side of the road) half way down/up the road that leads from the A5004 to Errwood Reservoir Dam at 10am for a 10:15am start. Grid reference: East 402450 North 375106. It is a steep, narrow road. The car park is adjacent to the wild swim water which is not named on the OS map but is a delightful spot to swim in. Joe will lead a walk of about 5 or 8 miles depending on people's preferences and the weather. It will be a clockwise walk around the valley taking in some steep slopes, edges and moorland paths. The walk will be followed by an optional wild swim in a small reservoir known as Bonsall Cobb which was created to provide water for a static steam engine bringing coal up from the valley. We are hoping to be joined by some Ukrainian refugees who are keen wild swimmers. There may be cake!
Please note - the Whaley Bridge side of the A5004 is closed. If coming from Manchester/the north either come via Kettleshulme or the A6/Buxton.
